Rome in the Dark room


“Rome in the dark room” arrives at the Rome Museum. The exhibition intends to present photographic art in Rome covering a time span ranging from the birth of photography to the present day.

The photographic art in Rome was born very early: already in 1839, the year of the presentation of Daguerre at the Paris Academy of Sciences of the system he invented to fix the images on a silver foil, the first daguerreotypes began to operate. In the following years Rome is one of the first Italian cities to record the transition to printed photography on paper from a negative, which will also be made of paper and then glass.
